While the Duomo of Santa Caterina, thought to have been constructed in the 1500s, is not to be missed. From Messina or Palermo :

Take the autostrada in the direction of Catania and exit at Taormina. Follow the street signs to Taormina Mare until you reach Mazzaro Beach. You will then see the cable car station at Piazzale Funivia. Go straight and after 20m you will reach Hotel Jonic Mazzaro Bay.

From Catania :

Take the autostrada in the direction of Messina. Exit at Taormina and follow the directions above.
